Pitch@Palace on Tour in Cheltenham!
In mid-January, we were surprised (and delighted!) to receive a ‘special invitation’ to attend the Pitch@Palace Tour in Cheltenham and present our thoughts on the topic of the day ‘Data, Intelligence, and The Future of Security’ and in particular, how that relates to Cloud based services like those being delivered by W2, to an assembled audience of other entrepreneurs, innovation specialists and most important of all, the HRH The Duke of York.
The “Pitch@Palace” initiative is a partnership with GCHQ’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to accelerate innovation entrepreneurs and early stage businesses. The program enables technical innovators with high growth potential to present their business solutions to a highly select audience of investors, influencers, local supporters and potential business partners. There is also an opportunity to ask questions of other presenters to gain insight develop new business relationships.
Our CEO Warren Russell spoke on the challenges of managing an award winning, cloud based KYC, AML and Identity Verification platform. Currently performing in excess of 100 million ID checks every month, he explained the range of security measures that we put in place today in order to protect our client’s data, and how we’re continually looking to enhance our technologies and our solutions so that both we and they (our clients) comply with very latest government legislation including the Digital Economy Act as well as the forthcoming General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) deadline in May 2018.
Pitch@Palace is a hugely exclusive program and of the 24,600 applications received so far, only 2,014 have been invited to present. Gary Pine, our Chief Product Officer who also attended the event said:
“We are delighted to have been invited to this prestigious event, and to be part of an initiative that has helped over 490 businesses grow with many now enjoying global success. W2 Global Data continues to see significant and rapid growth, and to be introduced to such an exclusive audience has presented many great opportunities for us in terms of the insights shared, conversations had and new friendships formed.”
